My current favorite show on the idiot box is Prison Break. My only critique is that it could be a lot more clever and intelligent, instead it often dumbs itself down for the average television viewer. Don't get me wrong, it began with a clever premise, but this season it has become a guessing game as to who's getting caught or killed in this week's episode. I've never seen a series with a higher death rate, especially the untimely deaths of main characters. There's so many twists and turns in the plot that they should send each loyal viewer a Prison Break compass. So now onto the good stuff. Most of the actors are top knotch. The show is quality entertainment. It's the first show that's had me literally on the edge of my seat since Twin Peaks. It's filmed at a brisk pace; there aren't many lulls in the action. They also manage to inject humor between the serious parts. If you've missed the first season, I'd suggest renting the DVD set from your local library when they carry it and catch up before starting to watch it at this point. You have to watch this series from the beginning or you'll be completely lost, as there are many sub-story archs and a lot of characters to keep track of.
